Examinations
After the onset of Coronavirus, arrangements for piano, keyboard, singing and music theory exams changed to being online. It became apparent that online exams are a very convenient way of taking music exams and allow the student to take the exam on their own instrument, in their own home. This makes for a much more relaxed experience to taking exams. Moving forward, all playing exams are going to remain online.
I am proud to be a local secretary for the Victoria College of Music. It is a smaller, more contemporary exam board that offers a greater selection of music to be played in exams. Many exam boards don't allow access to more modern music and expect a more classical selection. Victoria College also offers greater flexibility in the tests taken in the exam compared to other exam boards.
It is important to note I do offer other exam boards if this suits the individual, however in most cases, Victoria College suits the learning style of most modern musicians.
Exams are offered online approximately 3 times a year on an early Thursday evening using Zoom.
